Kavor 1.0.6

Highlights

  • Makes Terminal and Coding Agent sessions substantially more resilient under sustained output, concurrent activity, and multi-Workspace use. PTYs now run in a dedicated host isolated from Git, installers, probes, and other bounded operations.
  • Keeps live Terminal and Coding Agent processes independent from Canvas presentation. The active Workspace materializes nearby viewports lazily and retains them through panning and zooming; switching Workspaces detaches those viewports without respawning the process or losing ordered output.
  • Reworks Software Update around an explicit, verified Restart & update action. Download progress, readiness, errors, and recovery remain in Settings, while the Header badge and operating-system notifications provide passive attention.
  • Adds an offline post-update dialog. After the first healthy launch of a newer package, Kavor shows the relevant Highlights, Fixes, and Known limitations once, including every skipped release.
  • Makes Workspace preferences apply when changed. Only the Workspace name retains an explicit Save action.

Fixes

  • Removed the shared process-host failure domain that could terminate unrelated Terminal and Coding Agent sessions together when another process operation or high output pressure stalled the host.
  • Added fair, bounded PTY output processing and a direct typed presentation channel, preventing one noisy session from monopolizing another session's input, resize, interruption, checkpoint, or live output.
  • Corrected PTY hydration across Workspace switches so the authoritative checkpoint is painted before later bytes, while Canvas navigation retains an already materialized viewport without duplicate output, checkpoint replay, stale viewports, or hidden process restarts.
  • Made PTY presentation preparation progress-aware and transactional, so slow machines can finish a valid checkpoint beyond the former fixed request timeout while stalled or superseded attempts roll back without stopping the Terminal or Coding Agent process.
  • Added automatic recovery after a PTY host interruption while preserving explicit Stop intent and avoiding duplicate launches or fabricated process exits.
  • Separated the operation host from PTY execution and centralized login-environment refresh, so native tool and Coding Agent detection no longer starts or competes with the PTY host.
  • Corrected the Coding Agent context-hook process identity for Node-based launches, keeping live Kavor context injection separate from ordinary provider and shell processes.
  • Prevented ordinary application quit from implicitly installing a downloaded update. Kavor now revalidates the cached artifact against its SHA-512 metadata immediately before coordinated shutdown and keeps the application open with manual recovery when validation fails.
  • Corrected stale updater readiness after provider errors, coalesced repeated restart requests, and added bounded local updater diagnostics with rotation.
  • Removed global update toasts in favor of contextual Software Update feedback, made prerelease-channel changes effective immediately, and added a pulsing ready state for the Header badge and restart action.
  • Added failure rollback for immediately applied animation, telemetry, performance, path, and update-channel preferences instead of leaving the interface ahead of persisted state.
  • Added signed, idempotent Firebase account lifecycle synchronization for Kavor's communications registry, with bounded retries and daily reconciliation.
  • Aligned packaged startup verification with the lazy host architecture, preserving the invariant that a fresh, idle launch does not start the PTY or operation host before either is needed.

Installation

Download Kavor from https://download.agentkavor.com. The page detects the current platform and also exposes all available packages.

  • Windows x64 uses the assisted per-User NSIS installer. The installer is currently unsigned, so Microsoft SmartScreen may require explicit confirmation.
  • macOS 13+ provides separate arm64 and x64 DMGs. Builds are ad-hoc signed but not notarized; follow the download page's Gatekeeper instructions. Kavor-managed updates use the matching architecture-specific ZIP and expose an explicit coordinated restart after the cached artifact is revalidated. The manual download remains available at all times.
  • Linux x64 provides AppImage and DEB packages. AppImage supports Kavor-managed updates with an explicit coordinated restart; DEB updates are installed manually from the download page.

Known limitations

  • Windows ARM64 and Linux ARM64 packages are not included until their native PTY, SQLite, process-containment, and packaged-runtime gates can run on matching CI environments.
  • Windows direct downloads do not yet have an Authenticode publisher certificate.
  • macOS packages do not yet have Developer ID signing or notarization. Gatekeeper may require manual confirmation, and replacing an ad-hoc build may cause macOS to request access to Kavor Safe Storage in Keychain again.
  • Microsoft Store distribution is not part of this release.
